Well...That Threw a Wrench in My Day

Today our technician had a regular scheduled appointment at an apartment in the city.  We have been hired out by this property management company before and they have always been very easy going and respectful.  Today our tech was meeting the tenant at her apartment.  This is one of those old type of homes that have been made into apartments on each floor.  The main level was the area of concern.  The tenant was having squirrels in her actual ceiling.  Our tech started as he regularly would at a customers home.  Talked with the tenant having the problem and then started his regular inspection.

He put his ladder up on the house to find the squirrel entry point when he heard a girl ask, "what are you doing?"  He told her that he was inspecting for a possible squirrel problem.  This tech knew, from his years of experience, that this questioning was probably going to cause some distress.  She then asked him if he was going to harm the squirrels and he answered with a "depends", trying to be a vague as possible.

Then she flew off the handle.  She went nuts!  She ran up to her apartment and he could hear her screaming at whomever was in there with her.  She was screaming about how upset she was that these squirrels were going to be removed from the house... she watches these squirrels regularly... yada, yada, yada....

The technician then decided that he should probably remove himself from the ladder and call the property management company to report that there was going to be an unhappy tenant that they were going to have to deal with.  As he was on the ground and on his phone, our tech heard a loud crashing noise.  He walked around the corner to find scattered glass all over his ladder and a wrench (yes, a metal wrench) laying on the ground.  The crazy, distressed woman threw a wrench out of the window the tech had just been standing in front of!  If he would have been on that ladder, this could have been really bad!

Our tech was not pleased and expressed his concern with the property management company and decided to leave the property.  The couple from the top apartment came down to confront our technician but after he explained that they were to stay away from him, he fled.

Leeter Frhom a Coostermer

One of the best things to get from our customers are compliments.  We appreciate the time and effort people take to let us know that we are doing a good job.  The people in our company do work hard and it's nice to know when it is recognized.  You all know (from the past few posts) that some of the people who are calling me aren't always fun to work with.  I received this "letter" from one of our customers regarding our technician.  Instead of appreciating the letter with a smile on my face, I was going cross-eyed with all of the grammar mistakes!  I felt like I was back in school taking the Kansas Assessments!  I thought I would share...

All That Jazz!

I am constantly getting interesting voicemails, but this one is the best yet.  This customer called in to tell me that he had an animal in his trap and forgot to shut off his phone after leaving the message.  This "star" made my whole week!  Enjoy...  ***Warning... There is a curse word at the very end ;)
